Diana DeMar Singer Actress Goddess Princess of Pop R&B & Hip Hop Huntress Records

ABOUT DIANA

Diana DeMar is a multi-talented phenomenon whose résumé includes film, theater, comedy and music. With a starring role in the feature film, Follow Me Outside, the release of her second album Gypsy Girl, and her new, upcoming single, Whacha Gon' do (Hot, Hot!), DeMar is poised to take the entertainment industry by storm.

Her role as the “beauty shop girl” in Lyn Hershman Leeson’s award-winning sci-fi film, Teknolust, gives us only a small taste of Diana’s capabilities. As actress, singer, songwriter, personality and dancer, Diana has become a face and talent of international range. She has recorded two CDs, appeared on Outlaw Radio with Matt Alan on KRLA (Los Angeles), and now, after working with Kenisha Pratt (Brandy, Toni Braxton, Jennifer Lopez), and PhillieG (MTV Punk’d, Yo Mama, Fox Channel) to bring to you her own fresh blend of soulful and smokin’ R&B beats. Diana has found her groove.

"[Diana is]…an exuberant young actress whose style ranges from innocent to outrageous."
-- Rich Mintzer, Hollywood Reporter

Diana spent much of her life in New York modeling, where she acted in theater, evolved as a performer, and was featured in the cast of an independent film. DeMar confesses: "I love getting under a character's skin and becoming the window for their experience, especially when I can relate to them on an inner, personal level." In Hollywood, she was cast in Teknolust, did comedy on a live radio show, and with her marketable visual appeal, explored the Latin music wave—"That music is passionate and emotional," she explains, "but I wasn't loosened up enough to let my real voice out."

With Gypsy Girl, her long-awaited Huntress Records release, Diana came full circle with an outpouring of her own songs. Featuring production from heavy hitters, Bernie Grundman (Mastering Engineer), Dave Waterbury (Spirit, Berlin), Jeff Jourard (The Motels), Joe Romersa (Grammy Winner Engineer/Drummer) and songs co-written by Diana, Gypsy Girl gives us a provocative sense of where she’s at and where she’s going. The album’s retro 80s dance feel and edgy lyrics carry you along, but after the release of Gypsy Girl it is clear that Diana has found a new direction.

A newfound spirituality has begun to emerge, along with Diana’s new single, Whacha ‘Gon Do (Hot Hot!); the sounds are straight out of hip-hop, with a danceable, sinuous R&B beat. The lyrics raise questions and yearn to find answers. Diana has found her true range, and expanded her vocal capabilities. “I see changes within me happening so fast every day. When I started Gypsy Girl I was still learning and was influenced by everyone I was working with. Now I’m creating something different, the sound of today. No longer retro, her sound is new and now.

Diana’s music is vibrant and expressive. As a vocalist, she invokes an aura of truth and a joyous ceremony of emancipation. “Singing, acting and dancing are all my passions and they go hand in hand,” she says. Having discovered the benefits of meditation and natural health, Diana is combining her music with her talent and energy to motivate others. Watch for her forthcoming articles, books and music to inspire you, help you reach your goals and succeed.

Diana DeMar brings a message of love, equality and individuality. "I am truly blessed and believe in a Higher Power! I want to make a difference in the world and leave a trail," she confides. "I will have a big family...I want the world to be my family—one family—together and accepting."
